My journey as a massage therapy stared when I entered into the nursing field. I quickly realized the aspects I loved about nursing, one-on-one care and wholeness of the patient; sadly, this is not the focus in western medicine. I struggled with fulfilling my passion for helping people when I couldn't take time to hold a hand or to listen. It was when I was invited by my daughter to attend a massage school orientation, I realized my calling was to be a massage therapist. I learned that massage could help people with acute or chronic pain, mobility restraints, and inflammation. I was astonished that this concept posed immediate results for conditions I thought required medication. And to think, "I don't need a doctor's order!!" This started my career. I am fortunate to have my nursing background to safely practice massage on clients that have multiple or complicated conditions. I use the philosophy of wholeness: if one part of the body is effected the whole body is effected, address the body as a whole and health and wellness will follow.
I started practicing massage therapy out of a studio in Howell that was shut down after COVID due to owner's retirement. I then decided to re-open out of my residence in Howell. The current set-up of our residence was perfect for a massage business. My husband Mark also owns a single man carpentry business, therefore resulting in both of us working in and out of the residence.
When I am not practicing massage, I am hanging out with my husband Mark and our dog Brutus. Oh! I should mention our maskot CiCi the cat; she believes she owns the business. She will greet you in and see you out! We have a property up-north where we spend weekends in the spring and summer. We enjoy the lake, and ATV trails, hanging out with family and time to relax. We have a blended family with 5 grown children and 6 grandchildren. We enjoy family gatherings in the summer on our 4 acre property in Howell where we are far enough from town to have our own little piece of country. I hope to see you there too.....for a wonderful massage!!
